Tolmie State Park
This is one of my favorite parks here in Lacey– 10 minute drive from our house (Exit 111). There are 3 trails to hike and plenty of marine life to explore. I especially enjoy it when it’s high tide and there is water under the bridge. You can see tons of school of fish under the bridge and some of them are big enough to catch– did not get a chance to take photos when saw this happened since I forgot the memory card.
We went there today the reason why the bridge was wet.
Nisqually Wildlife Refuge
Friday was a lazy day for me and the kids. We stayed home all day and pigged out on Filipino Food (fried rice, lumpia and homemade shakoy (like doughnut)I –I used fried bread recipe since I could not find one online. Feeling fat and lazy, at 6 pm I decided to tackle the 5.5 mile hike in Nisqually Wildlife Refuge since it’s only a 2- mile drive from our house and I have a yearly pass($12) and had to bribe my 11-year old daughter so she’d go. Here is the photo of the front of their headquarters.
We ended up hiking 2 miles instead of the planned one –5.5 mi. My neck and shoulders were killing me from carrying my son Kai(had to take muscle relaxant last night). We’ll try it again next time.
